Mark Campbell, bass guitar

Mark began playing bass when he was in 7th grade after a 5 year stint on baritone and trombone. He really wanted to play trombone first, but his arms were too short in second grade! After discovering rock and roll, the switch to bass seemed natural. Mark comes from a rich musical family. His grandfather was a big band jazz player and both of his older brothers became musicians.

Mark started making money when he was 16 playing with various bands in San Diego and the Tahoe area until he was 23 and then took a hiatus to “settle down” (it didn’t work).

Fast forward 10 or so years and Mark met Andy’s dad while managing a local ski shop and they became friends. He was new to the area and learned of the jams at the UK Café and was talked into checking it out and meeting some good people. Well, it didn’t take long for Mark to get his bass from Tahoe, practice and begin jamming with Andy and the other musicians that showed up for jam night. He started playing with several local bands and was happy to join Steve and Andy to form Generation Blue.

Mark enjoys listening to everything from thrash punk rock to “old man” jazz, with blues and rock being his current favorites to play.
